NewNet engineers will be undertaking an operating system upgrade on one of our core Cisco 7609 routers.
In preparation for the upgrade, all traffic traversing this router will be re-routed and therefore no customer facing outages are anticipated.
Further maintenance will be scheduled at a later date to upgrade the remaining core routers.

NewNet engineers will be undertaking planned maintenance on a service network in London in order to migrate systems to a more resilient network platform.
The following services have been classified as “at risk” during this maintenance window and will experience brief outages as they are migrated:
• London DNS servers used by ADSL / SDSL / London Leased Line / London Colocation / LLU customers (212.87.64.7 and 212.87.64.10)
• Primary authoritative DNS - usui.newnet.co.uk. The secondary system, hayashi.newnet.co.uk is located on a separate network and will not be affected.
• prana.th.newnet.co.uk - primary backup SMTP service
• ftp.newnet.co.uk
• Primary ADSL RADIUS system - backup systems are located on other networks so authentication should continue as normal.
No prolonged outage of any of these services is expected.

Notice of planned maintenance work on the Powerhost platform, scheduled for 15/04/09, 22:00 - 16/04/09, 01:00
NewNet engineers will be carrying out planned maintenance work on the Powerhost platform. This work will include the re-scheduled upgrade of the MySQL server ‘mysql1.ukisp.com’. Other work carried out at this time will require a reboot of the ‘Windows3′ web server and work on ‘ns1.ukisp.com’. Outage on mysql1 is expected to be around 1 hour, whereas the outage on Windows3/ns1 will be only a few minutes. All of the aforementioned services are considered ‘at risk’ throughout the whole maintenance window.
