Planned Maintenance - PH Windows3 and mail1.adsl.newnet.co.uk - 22:00 - 01:00

Notice of planned maintenance for Monday 13th July, 2009 - 22:00 - 01:00

NewNet engineers will be undertaking planned hardware maintenance on the Powerhost shared web server ‘windows3.ukisp.com’. The server will be out of service for no more than 30 minutes throughout this work.

Work will also be undertaken on shared ADSL mail server ‘mail1.adsl.newnet.co.uk’ to improve the performance of this service.  Services on this server may be offline for up to 1.5 hours, but is considered ‘at risk’ throughout the whole maintenance window.

    The work was completed last night.

    Following the maintenance, an issue was discovered with email aliases on this system. Users with mail aliases (e.g. bob@domain.com aliased -> postmaster@domain.com) would have been unable to accept mail to these aliases during this time. Mail delivery to actual mailboxes was unaffected.

    This has now been resolved and all mail is being delivered as expected.
