NewNet will be undertaking maintenance on their telephone system on Sunday 11th October 2009 between 12.00 - 14.00. During this period all land lines to NewNet will be out of action. For those customers that have 24/7 support, an additional temporary number will be provided for urgent calls, details will be sent out to all 24/7 customers by email. The normal 24/7 on-line ticketing system will still be available for customers to use.
NewNet are upgrading the post.newnet.co.uk mail relay cluster to improve the quality of service offered for all customers
using this platform. With these upgrades, there will be a change in configuration and stricter limitations will be imposed on the volume of messages that can be sent via this platform.
These changes are being made as a result of an increase in the number of compromised / infected computers along with stricter blacklisting policies imposed by other mail providers. The post.newnet.co.uk service is shared by all NewNet customers and abuse of the service by one customer, e.g. sending an excessive number of email messages to a single domain, can cause disruption for other customers. These changes are intended to mitigate such circumstances and ensure that all legitimate email is delivered on time.
However, these changes may mean that some customers who are using bespoke or non-compliant mailing software may find their email can no longer be sent through this system.
These changes will be made to the live post.newnet.co.uk system during the week commencing 19th October 2009.
NewNet have made available a trial platform, which you are urged to test to ensure continuity of service, before the changes are made to the live platform.
To test, please re-configure your mail application to use the SMTP server test.post.newnet.co.uk (port 25).
To discuss any issues you may have whilst sending through this test server, please contact our helpdesk team by logging into our ticketing system (NOS), at https://support.newnet.co.uk, or by calling directly on 01329 226723. By performing these tests as soon as possible, you will limit the potential of experiencing problems once the new system is live.

The dates originally published for the generator load tests have been amended, they will now take place on the following dates:
Carnac Lodge - on-load generator test - Wednesday 23rd September at 7.00
West Barn - on-load generator test - Thursday 24th September at 07.00
Testing should not affect customer services.
Delme Place - on-load generator test was successfully completed on 16th September 2009, no issues reported.
On Saturday 19/09/2009 and Sunday 20/09/2009, NewNet engineers will be undertaking works to upgrade aspects of our main customer management system.
As a result of this work, the orderforms.co.uk portal will not be available from 19/09/2009 14:00 until 20/09/2009 14:00.
