Emergency maintenance - Primary LNS upgrade

Newnet would like to advise all Newnet DSL (IPSC, WBC, LLU) customers that due to an essential maintenance, users of this service will experience a short outage between 0001 and 0400 on the 29th October 2010.

All downtime will be minimised as much as possible, however if you experience any issues with your connectivity following this period, please reboot your router as a matter of course.

If your connection does not recover following this, please contact the Support desk on 01329 226723 between 8am-8pm for further investigation and resolution. We would also like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Broadband Issue - Birmingham area

End users on the 21CN service in the Birmingham area are currently able to sync, but have been unable to make a PPP session. This issue is affecting all providers in the area. BTW are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We do not have an ETA to fix. NewNet apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

ADSL Mail 1 issue - service restored

09.00 27/10/2010 - Newnet are currently experiencing an issue with ADSL Mail 1 server; currently it is off line while engineers investigate the problem. Service will be resumed as soon as possible. NewNet apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Broadband Exchange Maintenance across UK

NewNet have been informed by Openreach that they will be conducting maintenance to upgrade hardware across multiple UK exchanges. During the maintenance window, users may experience down time on there broadband service for up to 60 minutes.

Dates: 8th November thru 11th November 2010
Time: 02.00 - 06.00

Broadband service outage 1st-4th November 2010

BT have notified NewNet that they will be conducting a major firmware upgrade on Broadband Line cards in BT exchanges nationwide between  01.00 and 06.00 from 1st-4th Nov 2010. The nature of the work will affect all NewNet IP Stream / WBC broadband services. LLU services will not be affected.

It is likely that all IP Stream / WBC broadband services on affected exchanges will drop during this period while the upgrade is carried out. BT estimates an outage of up to 60 mins within the window specified. Service should automatically resume once the connection comes back. If your service does not resume automatically, please disconnect your session and reconnect. If you experience any difficulty in connecting again, or require further details of  if and when your local exchange is affected please contact NewNet Support at the earliest opportunity.
