BT Openreach declare matters beyond their control

BT Openreach have declared an MBORC “matters beyond their reasonable control” event for large parts of the UK this afternoon.

Highlands

North East Scotland

Tayside and Fife

South East Scotland

Newcastle and Northumberland

Tyneside, Durham and Wearside

Tees Valley

This declaration was effective from 14.00 today, and applies to all activities in the listed areas subject to the MBORC.

Newnet as always will continue to investigate any reported customer affecting issues, test and fault if necessary to BT. This status update merely confirms that the current extreme weather conditions may present additional challenges in resolving these cases in the affected areas.

Further to the above BT Wholesale have now also added that the following areas are also affected to a significant degree

South Yorkshire/Chesterfield

Lincoln

Esher

Croydon

Crayford

Southbank

Tunbridge Wells

Today 2nd Dec a further update from BT with additional areas now falling under this alert status. Detailed below:

London Leased line router issue

NewNet engineers are investigating an issue with a Leased Line router in London, which is failing to pass some traffic.
A further update will be provided asap.

Emergency Maintenance - 17/11/10 00.01 - 04.00

COMPLETED: This was all completed at 00:20.

NewNet engineers will be carrying out emergency maintenance to correct an issue that may become customer affecting.  This will cause a short outage of up to 5 minutes to all ADSL / SDSL / Leased Line customers connected to the Guildford Exchange.

NewNet apologises for any inconvience caused.

NewNet engineers will be carrying out emergency maintenance to correct an issue that may become customer affecting.  This will cause a short outage of up to 5 minutes to all colocation customers within the West Barn Datacenter and also leased line customers who’s circuits terminate with the Gosport and Fareham Exchanges.

NewNet engineers will be making a change to software on the orderform.co.uk service which will require
a restart. Expected outage is no more than a few minutes. The system should be considered ‘at risk’ throughout the whole mainteance period.
