Powerhost PHP5 migration - 15/02/11 00:00 - 02:00

NewNet will be updating all Powerhost web servers to use PHP version 5. PHP version 4 will still remain available for a limited period of time after this date, however version 5 will become default for all sites as a result of this work.

There will be a short loss of service of no more than a few minutes on each Powerhost web server whilst this change is implemented.

An e-mail has been sent to all Powerhost customers with further information. Anyone with questions/issues regarding this change should contact our support team, who will be more than happy to advise.

Please note: These changes will ONLY affect customers whose websites make use of PHP scripting.

Powerhost Mail3 - emergency hardware maintenance - 9/2/11 23:00 - 23:59

NewNet engineers will be undertaking emergency maintenance to swap out a second failed hard disk in the shared Powerhost mail server ‘mail3.ukisp.com’

This will require the server to be taken offline. The outage is expected to be no longer than 10 minutes, however the service should be considered ‘at risk’ for the whole maintenance window.

Newnet engineers will be carrying out emergency network upgrades as part of a continuing process of improvement for colocation customers in the Carnac Lodge datacentre. Services may be briefly interrupted during the duration of this maintenance window for up to 20 minutes.

Powerhost unix1 offline

Newnet wishes to advise its powerhost customers that one of the hosting servers in the powerhost cluster is currently experiencing difficulties and is offline. Hosted sites on this server will currently not be accessible. Newnet engineers are currently carrying out emergency maintenance to restore full service as quickly as possible and we apologise in the meantime for any inconvenience caused.

Full service to this server has now been restored. Newnet apologises again for any inconvenience caused.
