Planned network maintenance Wed 11th May 0001-0400hrs

Newnet engineers will be conducting essential network maintenance between 0001-0400hrs on Wednesday 11th May.  Any downtime on affected services is not expected to exceed 15 minutes whilst the maintenance is being carried out.

All affected customers are being contacted directly in advance of this work.

Planned Emergency maintenance 21/4/2011 @ 23:00

NewNet wish to inform customers in the Cosham and Waterlooville areas of planned Emergency maintenance due to a customer affecting issue. All NewNet customers in the Cosham and Waterlooville area should expect an outage of approx 5mins during this work, which is scheduled for 23.00hrs on 21/4/2011.

Newnet wish to inform customers in the Gosport area of planned Emergency maintenance due to a customer affecting issue. All Newnet customers in the Gosport area should expect an outage of approx 5mins during this work, which is scheduled for 00.01hrs on 20/4/2011.

Broadband outage in South East

Newnet wishes to advise customers of a broadband service outage in the South East affecting 21cn broadband circuits. This has been service affecting since approx 1.30am this morning and known areas to be affected include Guildford, Basingstoke and Farnham areas. We have confirmed with BT that there is a known issue they are working on affecting multiple isp’s and several thousand circuits. Engineers have been dispatched to carry out emergency maintenance and we expect a further update at 11am this morning. Update 1515: Service to affected lines was restored this morning following BT emergency maintenance. We have discussed the matter further with BT this afternoon and the reason for outage was a faulty line card, which was replaced, however the replacement was also faulty and required reprogramming. Any customers wishing to discuss further or still experiencing issues please contact the service team in the usual way.

Major Service outage in South East

Newnet wishes to inform customers of a possible major outage in the Guildford and Basingstoke area affecting 21cn circuits. PPP session and connectivity failed yesterday evening, with the dsl syncing but login details not being correctly passed. A case has been logged with BT and we expect a further response asap. At present the known circuits affected are in the Guildford and Basingstoke areas, however we are currently investigating whether the issue is more widespread, and will update further with any information as soon as we have it.

Update: BT have confirmed issue is due to a line card failure and are tasking engineer to resolve. We expect a further update shortly after 11am.

Update: 11.06: BT engineer on way to site to conduct emergency maintenance on BRAS line card. Next update expected 1230.

Update 12.30: BT have identified cause and are working to resolve as soon as possible. Further update to follow.

Update 12.40: Service has now been restored to users affected. Newnet continue to press BT for further details as to the cuase of this outage. In the meantime services should continue to be considered as at risk.
