Powerhost mail5 - service issue

NewNet are aware of a service issue with one of the mail servers on the Powerhost platform. This will be resulting in mail service interruption for some users on the Powerhost service. NewNet engineers are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and further updates will be provided when available. In the meantime NewNet apologise for any inconvenience caused. Any users affected and wishing to discuss the matter further should contact the Technical service desk on 0844 8549289.

Update 11.30am: This issue has now been resolved with full email service restored. NewNet apologise again for any inconvenience this outage has caused.

PowerHost Unix 8 - Server issue

We are currently seeing an issue with one of our PowerHost web servers (Unix8). Our engineers are currently working on the issue, and we will update this page as soon as we have any further information.

Update 1133 - Our engineers have now resolved this issue.

Connectivity issues within the Virgin Media Network

Newnet wish to advise customers of an ongoing issue within the Virgin Media network affecting some Newnet Customers. Virgin are aware of this issue and declared an MSO (Major service outage), and we are liaising with VM to resolve the issue for our customers.

Connectivity from/to Virgin connections, and some Newnet Leased line customers, will be experiencing service issues, and updates will be provided as soon as a further update is available.

UPDATE 1830 - We have seen most affected circuits recover, however some services are still affected. We are still chasing Virgin Media for an update on the status of this issue.

UPDATE 1945 - Service now appears to have been restored, and Virgin have confirmed that this was due to a router issue in one of their datacentres. No further information is available at present however affected services should be considered at risk until a resolution has been confirmed by Virgin Media.

UPDATE 0920 - Virgin Media have now confirmed that they believe this issue to be resolved. Any customers who have continued problems should contact Technical support on 01329 226 723 or 0844 854 9289, or by emailing support@newnet.co.uk.

Planned Network Maintenance occuring on 26th Jan 00:01-04:00

NewNet wish to advise customers of essential network upgrades occurring on the 26th January between 0000 - 0400hrs. Upgrades are being made to the NewNet DSL network and will result in a loss of service for DSL customers of up to 30mins during this period, however all services should be considered as “at risk” during the maintenance window.

All ADSL and SDSL customers will see a drops in connection during this period. If customers notice that their connection does not recover after the maintenance window then a router reboot will restore service. If a router reboot does not restore the service then please contact Newnet technical support for further assistance.

Update 26 January - This maintenance could not go ahead as planned, and hence will be rescheduled for a later date.

xDSL authentication issues

Newnet wish to advise customers of an issue on our xDSL platform, causing customers not to be able to authenticate. Our engineers are currently working on the issue and a further update will be provided as soon as they are available.

UPDATE 1320 - This issue has now been resolved, and customers can now authenticate on the system. If you still have an issue with your broadband please reboot your router. If the problem persists please call the service desk on 01329 226 723.
