Broadband service issues - S/SE England

Newnet wish to advise customers that we have seen a large number of broadband circuits drop in the South/South East area within the last 5-10 minutes. LLU services are not affected and hence we believe this to be a BT network issue.

We are currently investigating with BT and further updates will be provided when available.

UPDATE 1150 - BT have confirmed that there is a loss of connectivity to one of the main exchanges in the S/SE, and they will provide customer an update by 1245

UPDATE 1245 - BT have advised that their investigations into the problem are continuing, and they will provide a further update at 1400.

UPDATE 1335 - We are now seeing most circuits have recovered, however we are still waiting for BT to confirm this.

UPDATE 1430 - BT have now advised that this issue has been resolved. Any customers still experiencing issues should reboot their router or modem. If issues persist please contact the helpdesk on 01329 226 723 or 0844 854 9289.

This is likely to have affected multiple internet providers using BT

Cause BT

Update 1420 - Following extensive monitoring we can now confirm that this issue is fully resolved. BT have confirmed that this was an issue within their network, however we cannot provide any further details.

Broadband service issues

Newnet wish to advise customers that we are seeing the loss of connections to Broadband services (ADSL and SDSL at present).

Our engineers are currently investigating and we will provide further updates as soon as they are available.

Update 1630 - Following extensive monitoring all lines now appear to have stabilised. If you are still experiencing problems please reboot contact Newnet Support on 01329 226 723

Update 1640 - We have seen a re-occurrence of the problem, and have now been advised that they are related to BT network issues. We are currently liaising with BT to obtain more information on the nature of this and the estimated resolution.

Update 1725 - BT have advised that there are 3 separate network issues ongoing at present throughout the country affecting various users.

Update 1750 - BT have confirmed that 2 of the issues have now been resolved, the third is ongoing however we have been advised that this is only affecting customers in the Gloucester area.

Update 1900 - BT have now confirmed that the issue is resolved, and all services are functioning normally. Newnet would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Issue with managed hosting server - Web16

Newnet wish to advise customers of an outage on the web16 managed hosting server. This will be affecting web hosting and incoming mail on the affected server, however outbound mail will not be affected.

Engineers are working on the problem at present, and further updates will be provided.

Update 1130 - Our engineers are continuing to investigate this problem and we will provide further updates regarding this as they become available

Update 1300 - We are continuing to investigate the problem and we will provide further updates on this issue

Update 1340 - Newnet engineers have now restored this service, and we are seeing websites back online. Engineers will continue to closely monitor this service to ensure that the issue is fully resolved

Update 1945 - Following monitoring throughout the day, we can now confirm that this service is now functioning normally. Newnet would like to apologies for any inconvenience caused

Issues with PowerHost mail server (mail3)

Newnet wish to advise customers of an issue with one of the PowerHost mail servers (mail3).

Our engineers are investigating at present and any further information will be posted when available.

Update 1330 - Our server team have advised that they have now identified the issue, and are working to resolve at present. A further update will be provided at 1430

Update 1430 - We are continuing to work on the affected services at present and we will provide another update at 1530

Update 1550 - Our server team are continuing to work on a resolution to the issue, and we would like to apologise for the inconvenience experienced

Update 1815 - Our server administrators have now brought the affected server back online, however we are performing final checks to ensure that the service has been fully restored

Update 1900 - Newnet wish to advise customers that service is seeing a very high level of traffic at present, which we expect to subside throughout the evening. Newnet engineers are continuing to monitor throughout the evening

Update 20/03/12 0015 - Following further monitoring Newnet wish to advise that the mail3 service is now running normally again. Engineers will continue to monitor this server to ensure stability of the platform, and further updates will be provided

Update 20/03/12 0820 - Following overnight monitoring we have seen no further issues on this server and all services are functioning normally. We will continue to monitor this server throughout the day to ensure the system’s stability

We are pleased to advise that following a period of monitoring there have been no further issues detected with the server.
