Emergency Network Maintenance 21st December 2011 22:00 - 22nd December 2011 04:00

Newnet engineers will be carrying out emergency maintenance on the DSL network during the above maintenance window. Customers should not experience any downtime, however all DSL based services should be considered at risk during the maintenance window.

All backup system will be in place and functioning during the maintenance window.

Update 22nd Dec - All maintenance was completed successfully

Planned Network Maintenance occuring on 4th Jan 2012 0001-0400hrs (previously 30th Nov 0000-0400hrs)

NewNet wish to advise customers of essential network upgrades occurring on the 30th Nov between 0000 - 0400hrs. Upgrades are being made to NewNet’s DSL network and will result in a loss of service of up to 30mins during this period, however all services should be considered as “at risk” during the maintenance window.

All ADSL and SDSL customers will see a drops in connection during this period. If customers notice that their connection does not recover after the maintenance window then a router reboot will restore service. If a router reboot does not restore the service then please contact Newnet technical support for further assistance.

Update 30th Nov - The upgrade work was not fully completed, so a further update will be required in the near future to complete the planned works.

Update 22nd Dec - This work will now be completed within a maintenance window of 4th January 2012 between 00:01 and 04:00, all other details are as above.

Update 5th Jan 2012 - Work was completed successfully and following a period of monitoring we can confirm that no issues were detected following the maintenance.

Christmas opening times

Newnet wish to advise customers of our technical support opening times over the Christmas period:

19-23rd December: Normal opening times (8am - 8pm)

Saturday 24th December: 9am - 1pm

Sunday 25th - Tuesday 27th December: Closed

Wednesday 28th - Friday 30th December: 9am -5pm

Saturday 31st December: 9am -1pm

Sunday 1st - Monday 2nd January 2012: Closed

Tuesday 3rd January 2012 onwards: Normal opening times (8am - 8pm)

Please note that for customers with 24/7 support contracts, support will still be available using the normal communication methods during the Christmas period.

DSL outage

We are currently experiencing an outage on DSL circuits, our engineers our currently investigating the outage and we will provide further updates as soon as we can. This appears to be affecting multiple ISP’s at present.

Update 0915 - We are starting to see some lines recovering, however the incident is still ongoing. We are working with BT to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

Update 0925 - This appears to be related to a BT Major service outage affecting our host link (and other ISP’s) to BT at Stepeny Green.

Update 0950 - The problem now appears to be resolved, and a router reboot is restoring the connection. If you have done so and are still experiencing issues please call the service team on 0844 854 9289.
