Connectivity Issues to Walled Garden Datacenter

Newnet are currently experiencing connectivity issues to part of its walled garden data centre.  Some Dedicated Server customers are affected and some colo customers.

Engineers are currently working to resolve the issue.

RESOLVED: Issue was resolved at 17.35 and service restored. Please contact support.newnet.co.uk if you are experiencing any further issues.

Switch 23 on Delme Place data-centre is currently experiencing some issues.

This is a customer access switch, therefore customers with access point on this switch will be experiencing connectivity problems.

Customers with redundant paths via additional switches and customer with access points on other switches will not be affected.

Engineers are investigating the issue and will update as soon as possible.

UPDATE:  Issue was resolved at 17.35 and service restored. Please contact support.newnet.co.uk if you are experiencing any further issues.

NewNet Telephone System Maintenance - Sun 11/10/2009

NewNet will be undertaking maintenance on their telephone system on Sunday 11th October 2009 between 12.00 - 14.00. During this period all land lines to NewNet will be out of action. For those customers that have 24/7 support, an additional temporary number will be provided for urgent calls, details will be sent out to all 24/7 customers by email. The normal 24/7 on-line ticketing system will still be available for customers to use.

Data Centre Generator Load Tests - September 2009

The dates originally published for the generator load tests have been amended, they will now take place on the following dates:

Carnac Lodge - on-load generator test - Wednesday 23rd September at 7.00
West Barn - on-load generator test - Thursday 24th September at 07.00

Testing should not affect customer services.

Delme Place - on-load generator test was successfully completed on 16th September 2009, no issues reported.

Core network maintenance - IPv6 - II

Notice of upgrades on the core platform scheduled for 15/08/2009 from 00.01 to 04.00

NewNet engineers will be undertaking upgrades on some of our core routers in order to provide them with native IPv6 routing.

These works are part of an ongoing project to extend IPv6 native support to the whole of our core network and at a later date to the edge and access points of the network.

No customer facing outages are anticipated, however given the nature of these works, the core network has been placed “at risk”  for the duration of this maintenance window.

Further maintenance will be scheduled at a later date to upgrade the remaining core routers.

Maintenance completed at 2:00. Nothing to report.
