Suspected Power Outage in Telehouse North

There is currently a suspected power outage in the Telehouse north datacenter in London.

Whilst this is not directly affecting NewNet equipment, other ISP’s are being affected and routing across the internet is affected.

Network outage to customers in West Barn data centre

Newnet engineers will be carrying out network upgrades as part of a continuing process of improvement. Services should be considered at risk for the duration of this maintenance window, however any outage is not expected to exceed 10-15 minutes whilst network serices are migrated.

Customers affected by these works have been contacted by our service support team.

Core Network Maintenance - 5th May 2010

NewNet engineers will be carrying out essential maintenance on routers within our core network in London docklands in order to upgrade the network for future expansion. No customer facing outage will be expected, however, due to the nature of these works, customers should consider their services as “at risk” for the duration of the maintenance window.

Routing issues - Brocade LAN LINX

The London Internet exchange experienced a failure on its Brocade peering LAN approximately 22:30 16th March. Some issues still remain, so to preserve traffic the majority of  the NewNet Brocade LINX peering sessions will remain shut down till the issues have been resolved. This however may still affect customers connecting to other ISPs having issues.

Network Maintenance - 16/03/2010 - 00.01- 04.00

Description: Upgrade of aggregation switches within the Serverhouse Delme Place data-centre.

Risk assessment: Up to 30 minutes loss of service for colocation customers in Delme Place data-centre.

NewNet engineers will be carrying out upgrade works within the Server House Delme Place data centre to replace switches in the aggregation layer of the network. These works are intended to provide extra resilience and extra capacity within this data centre. Colocation customers in this data-centre will experience a loss of service for up to 30 minutes while the switches are upgraded. Because of the nature of these works, all colocation services within the Delme Place data-centre should be classed as at risk for the duration of the maintenance window.
