Connectivity issues within the Virgin Media Network

Newnet wish to advise customers of an ongoing issue within the Virgin Media network affecting some Newnet Customers. Virgin are aware of this issue and declared an MSO (Major service outage), and we are liaising with VM to resolve the issue for our customers.

Connectivity from/to Virgin connections, and some Newnet Leased line customers, will be experiencing service issues, and updates will be provided as soon as a further update is available.

UPDATE 1830 - We have seen most affected circuits recover, however some services are still affected. We are still chasing Virgin Media for an update on the status of this issue.

UPDATE 1945 - Service now appears to have been restored, and Virgin have confirmed that this was due to a router issue in one of their datacentres. No further information is available at present however affected services should be considered at risk until a resolution has been confirmed by Virgin Media.

UPDATE 0920 - Virgin Media have now confirmed that they believe this issue to be resolved. Any customers who have continued problems should contact Technical support on 01329 226 723 or 0844 854 9289, or by emailing support@newnet.co.uk.

Planned Network Maintenance 29th December 2011 0000 - 0400hrs

NewNet wish to advise customers of essential network upgrades occurring on the 29th December 2011, between 0000 and 0400hrs. All affected customers have been contacted directly by the service team.

The maintenance will result in a loss of service of up to 10mins during this time period, however all services should be considered as “at risk” during the maintenance window.

Emergency Network Maintenance 21st December 2011 22:00 - 22nd December 2011 04:00

Newnet engineers will be carrying out emergency maintenance on the DSL network during the above maintenance window. Customers should not experience any downtime, however all DSL based services should be considered at risk during the maintenance window.

All backup system will be in place and functioning during the maintenance window.

Planned Network Maintenance 18th Oct 2011 0000 - 0400hrs

NewNet wishes to advise customers of major network upgrades occurring on the 18th Oct between 00:00 - 04:00hrs. Upgrades are being made to NewNet’s core network and may result in a degraded service during this period, however all services should be considered “at risk” during the maintenance window.

Planned network maintenance on Havant Exchange 6th Sept 2011 00.01 - 04.00hrs

Newnet wish to inform customers of planned network maintenance occurring on Tuesday 6th September between 00:01-04:00hrs. Maintenance is being undertaken to Newnet equipment on the Havant Telephony Exchange. The maintenance will result in an outage of up to 30 min to NES customers and all Newnet Direct LLU users on this exchange. Service should be considered as “at risk” throughout the entirety of this maintenance window. NES service customers affected by this mainteance will be contacted directly by the Newnet Service desk
