Connectivity issues within the Virgin Media Network
Tuesday, January 17th, 2012Newnet wish to advise customers of an ongoing issue within the Virgin Media network affecting some Newnet Customers. Virgin are aware of this issue and declared an MSO (Major service outage), and we are liaising with VM to resolve the issue for our customers.
Connectivity from/to Virgin connections, and some Newnet Leased line customers, will be experiencing service issues, and updates will be provided as soon as a further update is available.
UPDATE 1830 - We have seen most affected circuits recover, however some services are still affected. We are still chasing Virgin Media for an update on the status of this issue.
UPDATE 1945 - Service now appears to have been restored, and Virgin have confirmed that this was due to a router issue in one of their datacentres. No further information is available at present however affected services should be considered at risk until a resolution has been confirmed by Virgin Media.
